In my opinion, if you were only able to make one USA car event, it should probably be Woodward.

The Carlisle events are much more specific, and are much better if you have a specific marque that you are interested in. Carlisle is also pretty much confined to the fairgrounds, with a few offsite events.

Woodward, on the other hand, is an honest-to-gosh cruise. You'll see a wide cross-section of vehicles, and they will be driving around "in the wild". The number of vehicles to be seen is astounding.

I don't know if I've posted it before, but this is from a cam that we set up in front of our parking area at Woodward 2011. It is only lightly edited, so it is boring at times, but it shows the variety of vehicles involved. We in the DOC hang at the northern end of the route, and occasionally cruise down into the heart of the cruise. Further down south it is pretty much a classic-car traffic jam.

I plan to be there in 2012, I think it is worth the trip. It might well be cheaper to fly in from Europe than to drive in from Massachusetts!
