Jimmy realizes for the first time he is part of the film industry, this plant what Hollywood movies. At 24, he still seeks his way as an artist but the trap of celebrity starts to choke. In spring 1955, James Dean trades his sports car against a much faster and Porsche takes his friends in trips to chilling.

He drives like a maniac, no visibility. On Mulholland Drive, the car skids and they are at the edge of the mountain and the only thing that is to say James Dean ". Next time you plunge into the void" Jimmy participates in races in secret, knowing that the studio would be furious if he found out as a rising star in Hollywood should take no chances.

In May 1955 Jimmy accepts the most challenging role of his career. The youngest star of the Warner must play Jett Rink in the blockbuster George Stevens: Giant (Giant). Jimmy plays a cowboy who is suddenly poor fortune but keeps a grudge against the rich family led by Benedict Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor.

Things get tricky immediately on the set of Giant. George Stevens knows what he wants and the players are not supposed to offer their own ideas. Jimmy does not like it and when he stands up to Stevens, he is offended. He hates Jimmy. The relationship between the actor and director are stormy. When Jimmy want without missing a day of filming George Stevens explodes. For thirty days, nobody talks to Jimmy on the board. It is masked and dressed in silence. Everyone hates him and shows him without hiding.

The team returned to Hollywood in the summer of 1955 following the shooting and Jimmy is happy to resume racing. Sad irony, the traffic police asked the young star to speak to young viewers in a spot for road safety.

The day after the filming of this spot, Jimmy sharing his Porsche Speedster against a new model: the 550 Spyder.

Jimmy is actively preparing for a race in Monterrey on October 1. In private, he feels very lonely. It has not recovered from his painful breakup with Pier Angeli and feels isolated from others. His friends begin to worry about him because he is suicidal and yet share shopping. He flirts with death and despite the entreaties of his friends, he does not give the races.

 

 

On the morning of Friday, September 30, Jimmy found that George Barris custom car and James Rolf Wutherich the mechanic. At 15:30, the output Bakesfield a policeman giving a fine Jimmy speeding.

Near the sleepy town of Cholame, California, Dean notices a car approaching the intersection of only the valley and cut his priority. The crowd rushing the funeral is more numerous than the people of his hometown. Approximately 3,000 people attended the funeral.

The property of James Dean immediately looted by fans seeking the slightest recollection of it. His tombstone was stolen three times, for example. Letters full of sadness come by the thousands to the Warner Bros. In response, the studio produced a documentary "The James Dean Story" (The story of James Dean) as if he was still alive.

East of Eden and Giant James Dean worth two Oscar nominations in the Best Actor category. To the amazement of Warner, the success of his three films unabated over the years. The cult he been spreading around the world. His fans are trying to resurrect his image in all possible ways. Everywhere, there are T-shirts, posters with the image of James Dean. It is frozen in time, creating a myth.

The legend of James Dean helped spark a revolution among American teenagers. He is the first to have expressed the heroic ideal teenagers and make it so attractive. More than a half-century after Jimmy's death, thousands of fans still gather every year at Fairmount, in September to remember the late star. The spirit of James Dean continues to grow each generation to speak loudly.

Nobody will ever know what James Dean would have accomplished had he lived longer, but in a few months, it has changed the cultural order in the world and all the teenagers felt its impact. It is part of the culture. It is an American icon that will never die ...
